Pressure Roller

Anti-slip stair treads are self-adhesive. Self-adhesive tapes need pressure to activate the adhesive and ensure that you receive the most secure bond possible. A Pressure Roller is a simple, inexpensive tool that will enable you to achieve the best application.

Once you use the pressure roller, you can be assured that all air bubbles are removed from beneath the material that could allow the material to tear and cause it to fail.

Rubber Mallet

When applying conformable traction tape, it may be necessary to help conform and adhere it to the application surface. Apply the material to the surface, then gently strike it to conform it to the application surface. The rubber mallet’s head offers sufficient weight to do the job, however, is soft enough to not damage the material.

Adhesion Promoter

Adhesion Promoter is used to prepare low energy surfaces. Self-adhesive based products are liquid based and have to “wet out” in order to bond effectively. Meaning, the liquid needs to spread over the surface and grip/stick to it. With low energy surfaces, the surface is very smooth/slick, with less friction. This means a reduction in energy on the surface and less of achance of an effective bond. Adhesion Promoter applied to these low energy surfaces helps to create the energy needed and to ensure an effective bond between the product and surface. Polyurethane and Polypropylene surfaces are examples of low energy surfaces, and a small amount of Adhesion Promoter will make sure that the adhesive application is a strong one.

Adhesion Promoter is available in small 118ml (4 fl/oz) bottles, due to the small amount required per application.

Tape Edge Sealer

For use in high traffic areas or where there might be a lot of impact by sharp objects (for example; one of our anti-slip stair treads on a stair nosing with high heels impacting it) we recommend tape edge sealer.

Directions:

Apply tape edge sealer to both the surface and tape, it will shrink into place effectively seizing the material into place and holding it firm. The tape edge sealer dispenser has an appearance similar to a large toothpaste tube. The nozzle is very fine and allows accurate dispensation. Only a small amount is required for anti-slip stair treads, just enough to touch tape and surface (only use AFTER application not before). Tape edge sealer normally dries in 10-15 minutes.

One 140ml (5 fl/oz) tube seals 35 Linear metres (120 linear feet).

Porous Surface Primer

Directions:

When applying to surfaces that are porous (wood, concrete, stone, marble etc.) it’s recommended that the surface be sealed prior to application of our products. Our anti-slip and marking tapes are self-adhesive and require a stable surface to adhere to. On a porous surface moisture can absorb through and lift the film. Primer helps to create a stable, non-porous surface. Simply brush it on like paint. Porous Surface Primer typically dries in 10-30 minutes depending on ambient temperature and the type of surface.

We offer Porous Surface Primer in either 1 Litre (34 fl/oz) or 500ml (17 fl/oz) sizes. A 1 Litre (34 fl/oz) container seals 15m² (50 sq/ft). A 500ml (17 fl/oz) seals 7.5m² (25 sq/ft).

IPA Surface Cleaner

• A versatile surface cleaning product
• Less expensive than many degreasers
• Doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue

Directions:

Use a clean dry cloth and wipe in one direction. IPA does not break-down contaminants. It simply lifts them and deposits them somewhere else so, a simple one direction wipe will leave contaminants where you lift the cloth off. Available in a 1 Litre (34 fluid ounce) container.
